DESIGN SOLUTION
Master Planning and Design for a new 21,000 s.f. facility to coordinate Statewide
transportation via the Del Trac System. This state of the art Transportation Management Center
features a multi-media operations area allowing traffic and transit technicians and
dispatchers to conduct real time control of systems throughout the state. When built out,
over 250 miles of fiber optic as well as hundreds of miles of copper plant will tie signals,
intersection camera monitoring, visual messaging boards, bus and transit information kiosks,
road surface and conditions monitoring, travelers advisory radio and individual bus routing
schedule information on demand at kiosks on the web and through other information exchange
systems to allow travelers the most up-to-date information so that effective commuting
patterns can be made. Collocated at the Delaware Emergency Management Agency's Emergency
Operations Center response synergies will make for an integrated approach to transportation
during normal operations and will improve responses during periods of emergency.
The facility is designed to be self-sufficient for 3 to 7 days with emergency backup power and UPS support for computer operations.
