DESIGN SOLUTION
The challenge of this design was to plan a three bedroom, 3000 SF house for a working professional couple with two young children. The house was designed to be energy efficient while taking advantage of a sloping site with a southern exposure and a view of a wooded valley.
The design solution creates a series of integrated free flowing spaces, linked by an east west circulation spine on the north side of the house acting as a thermal buffer to the living spaces. A glass block stairway serves as the entry focal point to the windowless north facade.
